Sting is currently performing in Japan for the first time in four years on his "My Songs" Japan Tour 2023. Here's a report from the opening performance, held at Hiroshima's Sun Plaza Hall on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.


In addition, to commemorate this Japan tour, Universal Music announced that live footage and music videos will premiere on its YouTube channel starting at 9:00 PM on Friday, March 10, 2023.


During this premiere, fans can enjoy live footage and music videos from Sting's performance, marking the 45th anniversary of The Police's debut album, "Outlandes d'Amour," while chatting with other fans.

Total album sales of 100 million! Rock legend Sting's "My Songs" Japan tour kicks off in Hiroshima on Wednesday, March 8th, showcasing a variety of classic songs from his career, from his time with The Police to his solo career and beyond!


This 17-time Grammy Award-winning legend will be performing in Japan for the first time in approximately three and a half years, since October 2019. Following his Hiroshima performance, he's scheduled to perform at Osaka-jo Hall today, March 9th (Thursday), Ariake Arena in Tokyo on March 11th (Saturday) and 12th (Sunday), and Nippon Gaishi Hall in Nagoya on March 14th (Tuesday).


This tour, titled "My Songs," is the latest edition of his greatest-hits tour, "My Songs," in which Sting personally selects his favourite songs from his numerous masterpieces and performs them throughout his career, from his time with The Police to his solo career. Since its launch in 2019, this tour has continued to captivate fans worldwide, and their Japan performance in October of the same year also garnered rave reviews.


2023 marks the 45th anniversary of the release of The Police's debut album, "Outlandes d'Amour." This commemorative Japan performance comes at a truly opportune time, marking the culmination of their career.


The concert began with a performance of the Police classic "Message," instantly erupting the 4,000 fans in attendance. Midway through the performance, he yelled "Hiroshima!", bringing the audience's excitement to a fever pitch. The second song was his solo hit, "English Man in New York."


During the interlude, fans clapped along with the drums, creating a sense of unity throughout the venue. He then performed three songs from his latest album, "The Bridge," released in 2021 and garnering attention for being produced during the pandemic: "If It's Love," "Loving You," and "Rushing Water." Fans were mesmerized by Sting's latest songs, which were being performed in Japan for the first time. From the middle of the concert onwards, many of Sting's classic hits were performed, satisfying all the fans in attendance.


The performance lasted 1:30, consisting of 19 songs and two encores. It was an intoxicating night, with Sting's ageless performance.
